Dubai Charity Association participated in a panel discussion organized by the DP World Foundation, titled “Rewriting Impact: Advancing the Charitable Sector in Dubai through Integration, Transparency, and Innovation,” as part of the 21st edition of the Dubai International Humanitarian Aid and Development Conference and Exhibition (DIHAD 2025), currently being held at Sheikh Rashid Hall in the Dubai World Trade Centre.

The session aimed to develop charitable organizations, explore the opportunities and challenges they face, enhance their ability to create sustainable impact, and discuss innovative mechanisms to increase their effectiveness and expand their reach within the community. It emphasized the importance of integration, transparency, and innovation as key pillars for advancing the charitable sector in Dubai.

The panel discussion featured a distinguished group of decision-makers and thought leaders from six key charitable and humanitarian entities in the Emirate of Dubai: the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department, the Community Development Authority, Dubai Charity Association, Dar Al Ber Society, Noor Dubai Foundation, in addition to the organizing body, the DP World Foundation.

His Excellency Ahmed Al Suwaidi, Executive Director of Dubai Charity Association, affirmed during the session that integration with digital and regulatory platforms has already led to a significant transformation in the development of charitable performance in the UAE. This has contributed to building a charitable sector characterized by broader and more effective reach to donors and beneficiaries, higher levels of transparency and credibility, improved operational efficiency, better coordination and collaboration among stakeholders, and greater capacity for innovation. He pointed out that regulatory platforms play a crucial role in organizing the work of charitable institutions and guiding them toward addressing the actual needs of the community, thereby reducing duplication of efforts.

The Executive Director of Dubai Charity Association explained that the future of collaboration between local charitable organizations and supporting entities holds promising prospects for the development of the charitable sector and the enhancement of its impact. He highlighted several potential areas for future cooperation, such as: developing more comprehensive digital platforms that connect charities with supporting entities; establishing joint funds dedicated to addressing specific social issues (such as education, health, and support for low-income families); activating corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs; encouraging supporters to invest in building the institutional capacities of charitable organizations; and jointly developing clear, standardized mechanisms for measuring the social impact of charitable projects.
