A high-level delegation from Dubai Charity Association has concluded a successful two-week field mission in West Africa, which included visits to Benin, Burkina Faso, and Ghana.
The mission focused on conducting a direct and detailed evaluation of the developmental and humanitarian projects that have been implemented or are currently underway, funded by benefactors and ambassadors of goodwill.
The visit came as part of the association’s strong commitment to transparency and accountability, and its dedication to ensuring that donors’ contributions reach their rightful beneficiaries, achieving the highest levels of efficiency and sustainable impact.
The delegation included H.E. Ahmed Al Suwaidi, Executive Director of Dubai Charity Association; Mr. Mahmoud Sahlabji, Director of the Resource Development Department; Eng. Wissam Aribi, Head of the External Authorities Section; and Eng. Ahmed Al Tayeb from the Project Management Department
During the visit, the delegation met with the association’s trusted local partners, as well as representatives of the UAE embassies and consulates in those countries, to discuss work mechanisms and ways to enhance cooperation in order to ensure the sustainability of projects and their implementation in accordance with the highest standards of quality and efficiency.
They also listened to the opinions and suggestions of the beneficiaries to better provide for their basic life needs, including education, healthcare, and shelter.
Commenting on the conclusion of the mission, H.E. Ahmed Al Suwaidi, Executive Director of Dubai Charity Association, said:
“This visit comes as part of the association’s strategy aimed at ensuring close follow-up of its international projects and verifying that they are achieving their intended goals of creating a positive and sustainable impact in the lives of thousands of people. Our field inspections reaffirm that the generosity of our benevolent donors is the driving force behind the positive change we strive to bring about across the world. We pledge to continue our efforts to expand the scope of our charitable and humanitarian work in Africa and other regions most in need
He added:“The evaluation results were truly a source of pride, as we witnessed firsthand the profound impact of the donors’ contributions on the ground. We saw how the mosques, Qur’an memorization centers, and schools that have been built have become beacons of worship and education for future generations, how the water wells are helping end the suffering of thousands caused by water scarcity, and how the orphanages are providing comprehensive care for the children.
He continued:“The detailed reports derived from this mission will serve as the foundation for developing our future plans, ensuring a shift from seasonal relief aid to economic empowerment and sustainable development projects that enable individuals and families to become self-reliant. We assure every generous donor that their trust and contributions are managed with the highest levels of precision and excellence, effectively contributing to embodying the UAE’s humanitarian and civilizational message across the world
