Dubai Charity Association hosted the National Volunteer Emergency Response Program “Sand” to conduct an intensive training course for the Association’s employees. The aim was to enhance their preparedness and ability to respond effectively to crises and disasters.
The training took place at the Association’s headquarters from October 13 to 16, and was scheduled after official working hours, from 4:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., to allow the largest possible number of employees to participate without affecting the regular workflow.
The “Sand” program is one of the leading national initiatives in the field of emergency and crisis response. Launched in 2009, it aims to empower community members, enhance their resilience, and contribute to building well-prepared and capable civil communities able to respond effectively to various emergencies and crises.
The program focuses on training and qualifying skilled volunteers to support relevant authorities during emergencies and to contribute to rescue and relief efforts.
The organization of this course comes as part of Dubai Charity Association’s commitment to promoting the culture of volunteering and social responsibility, as well as enhancing the efficiency of its human resources to enable them to provide effective support and relief during any emergency.
The course covered a range of key topics, including first aid, safe evacuation procedures, crisis management, leadership skills, and quick decision-making under pressure.
Throughout the program, the trainer delivered rich and diverse content encompassing various aspects of crisis and emergency management that individuals may encounter in their daily or professional lives. The sessions included practical applications and hands-on exercises, which strengthened participants’ awareness and readiness to handle different critical situations effectively.
The management of Dubai Charity Association affirmed that this initiative aims to build a base of well-trained and qualified employees within the emergency response system, serving the UAE community and enhancing social resilience in the face of crises.
The Association also praised the national efforts of the “Sand” program for empowering individuals and institutions to play an active role in protecting lives and property.
