The Syrian Minister of Health receives a delegation from Dubai Charity to discuss ways to support the healthcare sector

His Excellency the Minister of Health of the Syrian Arab Republic, Dr. Musab Al-Ali, received a delegation from Dubai Charity, headed by the Association’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Ahmed Al Suwaidi. The meeting took place within the framework of efforts to develop and strengthen humanitarian partnership in support of the healthcare sector in Syria.

During the meeting, Dr. Musab Al-Ali emphasized the depth of the fraternal relations between the Syrian Arab Republic and the United Arab Emirates, highlighting the unique strength of these solid ties, which are reflected in their shared humanitarian stances. His Excellency also reviewed the vital and urgent needs of the Syrian healthcare sector, affirming that the current phase requires concerted efforts to rehabilitate the infrastructure of health facilities to ensure the full restoration of their operational efficiency, as well as to supply hospitals with specialized medicines and advanced medical equipment.

Minister Al-Ali stressed the importance of signing a memorandum of understanding to accelerate humanitarian response mechanisms and overcome bureaucratic obstacles. He also underscored the importance of establishing a specialized oncology center in Deir ez-Zor Governorate as a fundamental step toward decentralizing healthcare, alleviating the hardship of travel and transportation burdens on patients in the eastern region, and ensuring the provision of specialized medical care with efficiency and dignity

Mr. Ahmed Al Suwaidi, Chief Executive Officer of Dubai Charity, expressed his great pleasure and pride in this fruitful meeting, stating: “Our happiness with this meeting stems from our deep belief in the necessity of unifying Arab efforts in humanitarian fields. At Dubai Charity, we look forward with seriousness and optimism to formulating a long-term strategic partnership with the Syrian Ministry of Health, aimed at making a real and sustainable difference in the quality of medical services provided.

The Chief Executive Officer of Dubai Charity added: “This meeting does not represent a mere protocol visit; rather, it is the cornerstone and starting point of a broad humanitarian and developmental cooperation path in Syria. Through it, we seek to mobilize all available capabilities to support medical personnel and healthcare institutions, thereby contributing to strengthening the resilience of the health sector and its ability to meet the needs of our Syrian brothers
