Coinciding with Zayed Humanitarian Day, observed on the 19th day of the holy month of Ramadan, and in an atmosphere reflecting the values of loyalty to the Founding Father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may his soul rest in peace, Dubai Charity Association announced the launch of a package of humanitarian and community initiatives. This comes in embodiment of the legacy of giving instilled by the leader in the hearts of the people of the UAE, and in alignment with the objectives of the Year of the Family.
In embodiment of the values of compassion instilled by Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan—known as “Zayed Al-Khair”—in the conscience of the nation, Dubai Charity Association will implement a campaign on this day to distribute nearly 40,000 Iftar meals for fasting individuals, in addition to 4,500 light “Iftar-breaking” meals as part of the “Kun Bikhair” initiative. The initiative aims to spread the spirit of solidarity by reaching beneficiaries across various locations, reaffirming the approach of “Zayed Al-Khair” in feeding people and promoting the values of compassion among members of society.
Believing that true humanitarian work is that which changes people’s lives for the better, Dubai Charity Association announced the implementation of two charitable projects on this day. The first aims to relieve the distress of a number of indebted individuals, seeking to ease the hardship of those in financial difficulty, reunite families, and protect them from separation—thereby strengthening family stability in the Year of the Family.
On this occasion, Ahmed Al Suwaidi, Executive Director of Dubai Charity Association, affirmed that Zayed Humanitarian Day is a renewed annual occasion to celebrate the legacy of “Zayed Al-Khair.” He added that it is a day to renew the pledge to his approach, which made the United Arab Emirates a global oasis overflowing with goodness and generosity for humanity, and made the name “UAE” a worldwide synonym for giving, solidarity, and peaceful coexistence.
Ahmed Al Suwaidi said:“In this year, as we celebrate the Year of the Family, we find in the legacy of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan the deep roots of social stability. He (may God have mercy on him) viewed the family as the first fortress where human values are built. His focus on housing, education, and healthcare projects was essentially an effort to empower families and provide a dignified environment for their growth
This humanitarian movement by Dubai Charity Association affirms that the legacy of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan will remain the beacon that illuminates the paths of goodness, and the true guarantee for the continued journey of giving that knows no borders—out of loyalty to the one who made the United Arab Emirates a homeland for all humanity.
